Book Referral Service
Mar 31, 2008
Walang lokohan at walang agawan. Yon! Sali na sa grupong Bookhawk!

PAGPAPAKYUT SA INGLES:
Because the Booksale site is such a pretty useless thing, and Amazon, despite its name, is not a third-world thing, we booklovers are gonna take matters into our own hands. Most especially, books! This is a sort of referral service for people finding books.

Take the Bookhawk members pledge: "Bookhawks don't eat bookworms!" There, you are officially a member who follows the rules.

Which are:
1. You are not gonna use this service for your own greedy ends.
2. You will not use other people's kindness or kindnesses and turn it into your own version of Amazon.
3. You will always help others.
4. You will not jump on other people's book requests.
5. You promise to regularly surf this site and post relevant stuff and sweet nothings about the book hunt and book reading experience.
6. You will inform us if romance has blossomed between you and a fellow Bookhawk in a corner of the shop around the corner. There is a reading public for this, you know.
7. You will say and practice this: "I will not lie. I will not steal. I will not exploit others. I will not do others any harm because I do not want to be harmed myself."

Remember: Bookhawks don't eat bookworms. (When they emerge as butterflies is another thing, though.) Rule violators will be hated, gossiped on, prosecuted and excommunicated.

HOW TO USE THIS SITE:

Post your query as a comment to the blog entitled: "Please help me find this book." (Don't be bossy, motivate us well. Be wordy and worthy of your fellow Bookhawk's interest) and wait for comments. A fellow Bookhawk may give specific instructions to you on where to find the book and how much it is. He or she might hide it somewhere in the store or have it reserved at the counter, if the little green men and women operating it are friendly enough. (Be wary of any other methods, especially those involving you parting with your hard-earned cash or meeting up with a stranger. Use your head.) While you wait for comments, read other Bookhawk queries and see how you can help out.

Or blog these topics:
My favorite second-hand bookstore
My greatest find, for now
Why I love to read
Non-books: cds, dvds, etc
Violations
Freebies! Freebies!
Esoterica

Let's try to keep the area clean. Only create a new blog if your topic doesn't fit in an existing one.

This site is powered by you. We are winging this together. Thank you!
